BSkyB’s betting arm, Sky Bet, launched a massive new TV advertising campaign a few days ago.
The new marketing campaign is expected to cost the UK gambling group millions of pounds and is in reaction to the enormous growth of online casinos in the United Kingdom and around the world.
It is hoped that the Yorkshire based company’s new marketing campaign will raise awareness of the company and stress its link to Sky Sports which is a leading brand name in the UK.
Sky Bet is anticipating a huge growth in traffic due to its new advertising campaign and has, therefore, created several new job vacancies. Sky Bet currently employs 260 people, 40 of whom have joined the company in the past year and is now expected to employ even more staff with the expected expansion.
At present online casinos occupies the ground floor of Wellington Place in Leeds and intends expanding to the first floor of the building.
Richard Flint, Managing Director of Sky Bet, reported that the company has seen good growth over the last few years and that they are growing their turnover and customer base by 30-40 per cent each year. He added that the new advertising campaign is the biggest ever done by the group in the past that it is a very professionally produced brand advert that reinforces the links that Sky Bet has with Sky Sports.
According to a recent survey, almost 75% of Britons gambled in one way or another during last year.
Sky Bet currently accounts for less than 10% of the UK online casinos market but hopes that the current campaign will see it taking business from groups such as Ladbrokes and William Hill.
